Core Cutter/Geotechnician

Yukon Metals (YMC) is a junior exploration company with 17 projects throughout the southern Yukon. YMC explores for gold, silver, tungsten, and copper projects at an early stage. Job Title: Geological Technician Contract: June- September 2025

We are seeking a Core Cutter /Geotechnician to assist with drill core processing in a remote exploration environment. Reporting to the Lead Geologist, this position involves cutting drill core, handling drill core materials, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This seasonal contract position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience and receive ongoing training for advancement in the mineral exploration industry.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, participate in weekly and daily safety meetings. Safety and a positive work environment are our team’s priority.

• Be a part of a remote camp environment on a 3 week on 1 week off schedule. Shared wall tent accommodation.

• Travel and workdays are paid, food and accommodation is provided. Training is paid.

• Cut drill core using a core saw while following safety protocols, maintain equipment to safe working standards and cleanliness.

• Handle, move, and organize 50-100lb core boxes in a safe supported work environment.

• Learn how to and assist with labeling, photographing, and preparing samples.

• Learn new computer skills in software for managing drill core from drill to laboratory.

• Assist with mineral exploration tasks in the field and around camp which will be supported by the lead geologist.

Ideal Candidate:

• Comfortable lifting and moving heavy materials (50-100 lbs regularly).

• Ability to work outdoors and in physically demanding conditions.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures.

• Experience using power tools or saws safely is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.

• Experience working in core processing, mineral exploration, mining, or construction is an asset.

• Must pass pre-employment medical, substance abuse test, criminal records check and provide a driver’s abstract (if licensed). Drivers license not required but an asset.
