Humane Society Yukon is Looking for Volunteers: Board Members

Humane Society Yukon is looking for volunteer board members to help fulfill our vision of a compassionate and caring community where the safety and well-being of animals is valued and protected.

We are seeking people with a broad range of skills and expertise including finance, information management and technology, fundraising, human resources, animal health or welfare, volunteer program management, and/or personnel planning and administration. While we welcome people interested in all board positions, we are specifically recruiting for the following positions:

• President
• Vice President
• Secretary
• Directors-at-large

By joining the board, you will have the opportunity to work with other enthusiastic and progressive volunteers to improve animal welfare in the Yukon.

The time commitment is approximately 10-15 hours a month which includes a monthly board meeting.

People interested in joining the board are encouraged to attend the Humane Society Yukon Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, June 14 at 6:30 pm at the Golden Age Society at 4061 4th Avenue in Whitehorse. If you are unable to attend the AGM but would like to put your name forward as a board member, please email Heather LeDuc at board.[email protected] or Samantha Salter at board.[email protected] no later than June 12 and let us know which position you’re interested in. Please include:

• Your name and contact information
• A brief (3-4 sentences) explanation of why you would like to join the board and what you hope to achieve
• Any specific skills, qualities or qualifications you would bring to the board
• Any questions you would like to ask the current board.
