Bagel Baker (NOC 63202)

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced bagel baker to join our bagel making team. Must be competent and experienced in a fast paced kitchen work environment. Minimum 1 year baking experience required. Experience in bagel making is preferred. Must be dependable, flexible, have excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills, and be a

team player. Ability to deliver friendly customer service is also essential.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist in preparation of bagels
• Mix, portion and hand roll dough
• Boil and bake bagels according to established protocols to ensure product quality
• Assist in preparation and production of bagel sandwiches and their ingredients
• Welcome customers, take orders, and process payment at point of sale
• Package bagels and monitor for quality control of product
• Process special orders
• Draw up production schedule to determine type and quantity of bagels to produce
• Place orders for purchasing baking supplies
• Thorough daily cleaning of bagel shop and all kitchen equipment
• Follow all food safe practices and standards
• With time hire, train and supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff

Physically demanding job. Involves repetitive tasks, weight handling of up to 20kg, standing for extended periods of time, fast-paced and hot work environment. Attention to detail is essential.

Training Requirements:

• Minimum of secondary school education completed
• Food safety training certificate
• Minimum one year professional baking experience
• On-the-job training will be provided

Wage offered: $18-22/hr, depending on experience. One (1) permanent, full time position available (40hrs/week).
