Position: Maintenance Mechanic (NOC 72400)

Salary: $42.50 per hour.

Terms of Employment: Permanent, full-time, 40 hours per week

Job Requirements:

Education: College or University degree – Mechanical engineering-related fields of study

Language: English

Security and Safety: Drug test- Zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol and Criminal record check.

Experience:

• 5 years of experience as a mechanic in a field or shop environment. Experience with drill rig maintenance is considered a strong asset.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems + Diesel engines.
• Experience cutting and crimping hydraulic hoses.
• A valid driver’s license with 2 years experience driving and clean driver’s abstract.

Duties and Main responsibilities:

• Provide assembly, preventive, routine and non-routine maintenance and repair of internal engines, pumps, compressors and drilling related equipment and control panels.
• Assemble mechanical components and equipment for fly and skid drill rigs.
• Assemble, install, troubleshoot, and maintain stationary industrial machinery, including the safety devices drilling systems and related mechanical components.
• Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions
• Conduct necessary repairs and testing of drills before returning them to the field.
• Supervise the mechanics team.
• Estimate costs and materials
• Perform routine maintenance work on machinery in workshop and at the project if necessary.
• Operate machining tools to fabricate parts.
• Fine tune drills to optimize drill performance.
