About us:

Landed Bakehouse is a busy neighbourhood bakery in Whitehorse producing fresh bread, pastries and specialty baked goods. We value craftsmanship, consistency, and excellent customer service.

Position summary:

We are seeking an experienced Baker (NOC 63202) to prepare, bake, and finish breads, pastries and other products to established recipes and standards. The successful candidate will maintain production schedules, ensure food safety and quality, and work closely with the team.

Key duties:

  • Prepare doughs, batters, fillings and mixes according to recipes and schedules
  • Produce laminated pastry (croissants, Danish, puff pastry)
  • Operate ovens and bakery equipment; monitor temperatures and baking times
  • Shape, proof, bake and finish breads, rolls, cakes, cookies and pastries
  • Apply glazes, icings and decorative finishes; portion and package finished goods
  • Maintain consistent product quality, appearance and texture
  • Monitor ingredient inventory; assist with receiving and storage
  • Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment; follow HACCP/food-safety procedures
  • Record production quantities and temperatures
  • Assist with product development and cost-control as needed

Required qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years baking experience (commercial or artisan)
  • Apprentice certificate or equivalent certification (or in-progress)
  • Knowledge of dough handling, scaling and baking techniques
  • Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 kg; early mornings and weekend availability
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and teamwork
  • Experience with sourdough, laminated doughs or large-scale production
