Daycare Supervisor

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an opportunity to administer the operation of the Dunena Ko’Honete Ko Daycare in developing and delivering programs and initiatives for childcare services while ensuring compliance with Yukon Government (YG) Childcare regulations and FNNND policies within the community of Mayo.

THE PERSON

This person is genuinely interested in the development and success of our children in the community who desires in creating a caring, safe, and stimulating environment that reflects the Northern Tutchone culture and adheres to caring, sharing, teaching, and respecting. You will work closely with parents and guardians, early childcare educator staff, community and other resource contacts in maintaining a high standard of early learning and childcare.

QUALIFICATIONS

This person will have Grade 12 (or equivalent) with a Level III Childhood Education Certification (preferred) and/ or Level I required (must be working toward Level II certification). Two years of office administrative experience, including supervisory skills, is an asset. Familiarity working within a First Nation environment/ community and knowledge of early childhood development theory, principles, and practices is an asset.

You must be familiar with the use of standard office equipment and demonstrated computer skills using Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Special Working Conditions

Vulnerable Security Clearance, Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and Abstract, First Aid CPR Level C, and Food Safe Certification.
