ElderActive Recreation Association (ERA) is a dynamic, forward thinking organization looking for an enthusiastic Executive Director (ED) who is passionate about Yukon seniors/elders. The role involves working closely with a volunteer Board of Directors and over 600 members to create recreation opportunities for Yukoners 55 years of age and older. Main responsibilities include program development, building community partnerships, financial management and fundraising.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The incumbent is required to do the following:
- Provide leadership and direction to staff and volunteers
- Manage budgets and financial resources
- Initiate and manage programs
- Oversee the management of fundraising initiatives
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with the Board of Directors and stakeholders
- Oversee and supervise the development and implementation of programs and services for ERA’s membership
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations
- Represent ERA at public events and in the media
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EXPERIENCE
- Leadership experience, ideally in non-profit organizations
- Knowledge of trends in recreation programs geared to seniors/elders
- Post-secondary education in recreation leadership, management, finance or equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with financial management practices and tools, and other business-related software
- Ability to work collaboratively with Board members, stakeholders and community partners
- Commitment to the organization’s mission and values
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Completed RCMP Vulnerable Sector Check
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C (if not current, to be completed as soon as training is available)
- Access to a personal vehicle (insurance rider and Yukon Government rate for reimbursement for mileage provided by ERA)
- Ability to lift 25lb (>11kg)
