Mining Equipment Service Person/Apprentice Mechanic

M2 Gold Mines is recruiting a Service person/ Apprentice Mechanic for its Sixty Mile River placer gold mining operation, starting April 2025 and continuing to mid-October 2025.

The successful applicant should have a strong mechanical aptitude and previous relevant experience with construction & mining earthmoving equipment, automotive, ATVs, and small engines.

The job would entail the following under the supervision of management and senior mechanics.

• regular services & maintenance on all earthmoving and gold processing equipment;
• regular services & maintenance and minor repairs on mine vehicles, ATVs, pumps;
• occasional repairs & maintenance on camp & maintenance shop infrastructure
• general workshop & yard cleaning and maintenance;
• fuel and water hauling for remote fuel tanks and for camp water, and
• keeping accurate records of work done.

Both Red Seal Heavy Duty and Automotive Techs on site, fully able to sign off on apprenticeship hours.

This is a camp position located 1.5 hours drive from Dawson City, Yukon with work on day shifts of 12 hours duration. Room & board is provided along with other amenities such as 24/day power, internet, TV room, showers, laundry facilities, pool hall along with other leisure amenities.

The Company maintains a staff of approximately 22 persons at camp with a friendly and respectful atmosphere.

This position requires a positive work ethic, strong ability to work as part of a team and take direction from supervisors.
