Inclusive Employment Services in Yukon
Inclusion Yukon is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting meaningful inclusion for individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families. They offer various services, including employment support through programs like MentorAbility and Ready, Willing and Able. These programs facilitate mentorship opportunities and aim to increase workforce participation among people experiencing disabilities.
Inclusion Yukon collaborates with the Yukon Government’s Department of Health and Social Services to provide employment support. While social workers arrange job placements, Inclusion Yukon offers employment coaching to ensure successful integration into the workforce.
Additionally, the Yukon Association for Community Living (YACL) participates in the Ready, Willing and Able program, a national initiative aimed at increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities. This program has been implemented in various communities, including Whitehorse, to support individuals in securing meaningful employment.
For comprehensive support, the Yukon Government offers a range of services to help people with disabilities live with maximum independence and be active community members. These services include funding for families to care for children with disabilities and promote their inclusion in the community.

Kwanlin Dün First Nation Employment Services
Located at the House of Learning, Kwanlin Dün First Nation Employment Services offers personalized employment support for Kwanlin Dün Citizens and Beneficiaries. Services include résumé and cover letter assistance, job search and interview preparation, career exploration, workshops, and referrals to other resources. The office also provides access to a job board and a computer lab for job searching. With strong partnerships across the Yukon, the team works closely with funders and service providers to support Citizens in developing career plans and achieving their employment goals.
Employment Central Yukon
Since 2001, Employment Central Yukon has been a trusted resource for job seekers, providing a welcoming environment and a range of services to support employment success. Clients can access job boards, labour market information, computers, phones, and a resource library to conduct independent job searches. For those needing additional support, services include employment counseling, career exploration, résumé and cover letter assistance, interview practice, and job search workshops.
Eligible clients may also receive financial assistance for skills development, specialized training, or education planning as part of their employment journey. Employers can use Employment Central to post job vacancies, host information sessions, and conduct interviews. Workshops and services are available in-office and at community locations upon request.
Skookum Jim Friendship Centre – Youth Employment Centre
The Youth Employment Centre at Skookum Jim Friendship Centre helps young people develop the skills needed to secure and maintain meaningful employment. Open to all youth aged 15–30, the centre provides individualized support and training to those transitioning into the workforce.
Services include access to job search tools, résumé and cover letter assistance, interview preparation, career development workshops, and mentorship programs. The centre also offers three-month subsidized work placements, co-op credits for high school students, and funding for pre-employment training. Youth employment coordinators provide case management and advocacy to help clients achieve their employment goals. The centre serves youth across the Yukon, with community visits (except to Old Crow) up to four times per year.

Volunteering is a great way to explore career options, build your résumé, develop new skills, and expand your professional network.
Volunteer Yukon supports and promotes volunteerism across the territory by connecting individuals with opportunities and providing resources, training, and consultation for both volunteers and organizations. Their services include a volunteer matching system, training workshops, a resource library, and an e-newsletter to keep the nonprofit community informed and engaged.
Yukon University
Yukon University offers various services to support career development and employment readiness. The Workplace Readiness Program helps individuals build skills, gain experience, and prepare for employment. Continuing Studies and Professional Skill Development provide flexible training to enhance career prospects. Association franco-yukonnaise (AFY)
AFY offers a comprehensive range of French-language services for adults and families in Yukon, including job search support, career development, post-secondary education guidance, professional development, literacy programs, and French language improvement (francisation). Services include assistance with résumés and cover letters, job search support, English tutoring, and entrepreneurship advice. AFY also operates an employment resource center with free access to computers, printers, photocopiers, fax machines, and telephones.
Multicultural Centre of the Yukon (MCY)
The Multicultural Centre of the Yukon (MCY) offers a range of services to support immigrants in their career planning and job search efforts. These services include providing information on employment opportunities, assisting with foreign credential recognition, and offering language instruction to enhance employability. Additionally, MCY facilitates programs like the "Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants," which helps unemployed or underemployed skilled immigrants find employment that aligns with their previous experience and education. The Advanced Education Branch of the Yukon Department of Education supports apprenticeship training and trades certification. Yukon Learn
The Yukon Learn Society offers free, personalized services to Yukon adults aiming to enhance their literacy skills and achieve personal goals. To access all programs and services, individuals are required to obtain a yearly membership, which includes a nominal fee: $5 per year for employed adults, $2 per year for students, seniors, and unemployed adults, while volunteers, tutors, and organizations can join for free. Services include one-on-one tutoring in reading, writing, and computer skills, scheduled computer classes, tutor training, and exam invigilation for other educational institutions.

NorthLight Innovation is a 24,000-square-foot facility located in downtown Whitehorse, managed by the non-profit organization Yukonstruct. As Canada's first community innovation hub north of the 60th parallel, NorthLight Innovation offers a collaborative environment for entrepreneurs, makers, and innovators. The facility houses diverse spaces, including co-working areas, private offices, boardrooms, classrooms, and specialized workshops such as wood and metal shops, and a digital fabrication space. däna Näye Ventures Entrepreneur & Business Training
däna Näye Ventures provides Entrepreneur & Business Training to support both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal entrepreneurs in starting, acquiring, or expanding businesses in Yukon. Their programs offer assistance with feasibility studies, business planning, securing financing, and ongoing mentorship to help businesses succeed. They also provide funding for entrepreneurship training, skills development, market promotion, and innovative ventures, with contributions of up to $99,999 for eligible individuals.
