We are looking for a camp cook who resides in the Yukon, BC or Alberta and who possess a valid and current EMR or OFA3 First Aid certification. This is a camp position.

Responsibilities

• Be a safety champion and help maintain a healthy, "dry" and harassment-free worksite.
• Prepare breakfast and dinner for crews of 6 to 15 people, as well as sandwiches and other grab-and-go options for lunch
• Maintain an adequate assortment of snacks, beverages, and freshly baked goods throughout the day
• Prepare a menu plan and organize weekly food orders to ensure that supplies for breakfast, lunch and dinner are adequate to meet crew needs
• Perform related kitchen cleaning of equipment, appliances, floors, and associated laundry
• Ensure food-safe hygiene in the work area
• Provide workplace first aid at the level of Emergency Medical Responder or BC Occupational First Aid 3 (77 to 120-hour course)

Requirements

• Experience cooking in a camp setting, or in a fast-paced restaurant setting, and/or vocational training in commercial cooking, with an ability to lead and work independently. Must express a desire to experience the camp lifestyle. This is not an entry-level position.
• Practice safety at every turn. Embody safety leadership and a professional approach towards all fellow employees, supervisors, contractors, and visitors. Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as demonstrated, required, and provided by employer.
• Help maintain a "dry" worksite. Usage of alcohol or drugs is not tolerated at work. Presenting oneself intoxicated, or under the influence of either drug or alcohol, will result in immediate dismissal.
• Possess a healthy and positive attitude
• Only Yukon, BC and Alberta residents are encouraged to apply.
• Emergency Medical Responder or Occupational First Aid Level 3.
• Candidates without certification may be considered at a lower daily rate

Compensation

• Competitive with the rest of the mineral exploration industry, and dependent on experience.
