BPS (Baxendale Project Services) is a Geomatics company located in Whitehorse, YT.

BPS is currently looking to fill a surveyor position. The person in this position will be primarily field based and responsible for rural Yukon projects with a focus on implementing engineering designs and data acquisition. This will include topographic maps, construction layout, and as-built survey using GNSS, UAV’s and Total Station.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Diploma/Degree from a Civil or Geomatics Technology Program or 5 years experience in a relevant field.
  • sRPAS Advanced Pilot Certificate

Desirable Skills:

  • Solid understanding of mathematical concepts for accurate measurements and calculations.
  • Ability to interpret construction plans and blueprints.
  • Willingness to work in outdoor settings, in a variety of field conditions.
  • Familiarity with the latest surveying technologies and tools to enhance efficiency and precision.
  • Attention to detail for thorough and accurate survey data collection.
  • Aptitude for critical thinking and creative problem-solving in challenging field situations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, and construction teams to ensure accurate surveying results and reporting.

Assets:

Candidate assets would include but not limited to:

  • sRPAS photogrammetry data collection
  • GIS experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Good working knowledge of survey data collection software.

Job Requirements:

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with driver’s abstract.

  • Vehicle supplied by employer/Day rate for Personal Vehicle use.
  • On shift accommodation supplied.
  • Training and professional development may be provided. (First Aid, Drone Licensing)
  • Priority to local hires

This is a shift work position and travel to/from the Yukon can be supplied for the right candidate. Length of shift is negotiable, but 2 weeks on 2 weeks off and 12 hours shift is preferred.
