Summary:
This position arranges for and/or completes installations, repairs and terminations of the Line of Life service and coordinates these events with the subscribers, and others. The incumbent provides efficient, professional and confidential services to all subscribers of Line of Life Yukon, throughout the Yukon and northern BC.
Job Duties:
- Includes processing applications, attending Whitehorse subscribers’ homes and physically installing the equipment as required. Explaining how the devices work to the new subscriber.
- Enters data into the Lifeline Canada portal and maintains subscriber records accurately.
- Creates invoices for Line of Life Yukon services and keeps the necessary financial records.
- Responsible for equipment cleaning, maintenance and inventory. Keeps necessary supplies on hand. Works with manager to order new equipment.
- Liaise with other support agencies and health care providers to provide equipment and service.
- Assists manager in the day-to-day running of the Line of Life Yukon office.
- May be required to cover manager on day-to-day operations.
- Provides information and education about the Lifeline Canada service.
- Other related duties.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in working with people in crisis, elderly people, volunteers, Line of Life employees and other agencies.
Working Conditions:
Works primarily in a normal office environment with minimal exposure to physical injury or adverse environmental conditions. Travel to subscribers’ homes and set up equipment is required. Setting up equipment may entail working behind furniture and bending down low or kneeling on the floor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of subscribers’ personal information.
- Solid knowledge of Windows based computer programs.
- Ability to learn and be comfortable with a variety of technology and equipment.
- Ability to drive with a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle. Mileage allowance is provided (government rates apply).
- Have a working cell phone to facilitate access to subscribers’ homes as required.
- Sufficient physical flexibility to set up Line of Life units in subscribers’ homes with varying degrees of complexity.
