ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
This Position reports directly to the Early Years Program Director. The incumbent will be responsible for child/youth engagement and supervision.
Position Details
Start/End Date: ASAP at 37.5hr/week.
Wage: $25-$34.50/hr (ELCC Level dependent)

Job Description
The Afterschool Allstars program engages children ages 6-11 years through meaningful, integrated programming that provides them with long term positive outcomes. This position reports directly to the Middle Years Program Director, the incumbent is directly responsible for the following staff: Early Childhood Educators, Interns, Auxiliary On-Call Workers, and Visitors (facilitators, contractors, volunteers) in relation to the Afterschool Allstars programs.
The Middle Years Program Co-Manager is responsible for:
- Adherence to all regulatory and organizational standards.
- Ensuring the program is in full compliance with Environmental Health, and other industry standards.
- Support with the creation, and execution, of centre menus;
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Afterschool Allstars Program.
- Ensuring proper opening and/or closing of the centre.
- Oversight of program planning and implementation.
- Assisting the MYPD with Human Resources and Staff Management.
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed by the MYPD.
- Act as a BGCY Ambassador and Role Model.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector).
- All ELCC requirements (TB Screening, Dr. Note, ect.).
- Valid CPR/First Aid Certificate.
- Valid Foodsafe Level 1 Certificate (must be attained within the first 3 months of work).
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to reliable transportation (class 4 driver’s license is an asset).
- ELCC level 3 designation, though a lower level (1-2A) combined with extensive experience in childcare may be considered.
- Two years of experience developing and facilitating programs for children in a social, recreational or similar environment.
- Demonstrated teamwork, leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to problem solve and find resolutions to issues/conflict.
- Excellent oral, written, facilitation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven time management skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office application.
- An educational background in social services, child and youth care, or equivalent is an asset.
- Previous experience in a management role is an asset
