The Yukon Film Society operates the historic Yukon Cinema and media art centre based on the traditional territories of the Ta’an Kwäch’än Council and the Kwanlin Dün First Nation in Whitehorse. YFS supports media art creation with equipment and artistic development; presents cinema, exhibitions, the Available Light Film Festival and performances; and distributes Yukon film and media art in partnership with KIAC through the streaming service: Available Light on Demand.

The Marketing and Communications Manager will help develop strategies and related content for direct and digital marketing and advertising campaigns and implement them; Assess characteristics of products or services to be promoted to determine marketing and advertising needs for Yukon Film Society (YFS) and the Yukon Theatre; Manage post campaign analysis to measure and report on marketing and advertising metrics; Advise current and prospective clients on marketing, advertising, or sales promotion opportunities and strategies at the Yukon Theatre; Develop and maintain YFS and Yukon Theatre social media accounts, including managing customer reviews and testimonials; Develop, implement, and evaluate public relations strategies and programs designed to inform clients, employees and the general public of initiatives and activities of YFS;

YUKON CINEMA

  • Manage printing, posters, newspaper, social media, and social media advertising.

YFS digital programming and collections on various platforms

  • Help program, coordinate and market online programming with Artistic Director, distributors, and partner organizations.

YFS Education and Production support

  • Help develop content for social media and YFS newsletters related to the
    development, production and release of member-led film and media art.
    Market and promote workshop and training activities.

Available Light Film Festival (ALFF) Public Relations and Marketing

  • Oversee festival media communications, help prepare advertising and news releases.
  • Assist the ALFF team with promotion and publicity of festival events.
  • In collaboration with the Festival Director, Festival Manager, Associate Programmer, and Industry Producer, help foster the development of good relations with other cultural organizations.
