General Manager – Gas Station & Motel Operations
A Nicer Motel is seeking an experienced General Manager – Gas Station & Motel Operations to oversee the day-to-day operations of our business in Watson Lake, Yukon.
This is a hands-on management position with primary responsibility for the gas station and retail operation, together with management responsibilities for our 12-room motel and 2 cabins.
The General Manager will plan, organize, direct and evaluate daily operations; manage staff and assign duties; oversee merchandise and services; implement pricing policies; purchase merchandise and supplies; develop marketing strategies; prepare and monitor budgets, revenues and expenses; determine staffing requirements; resolve customer concerns and supply issues; and conduct employee performance reviews.
The position will also oversee the day-to-day accommodation side of the business, including motel and cabin operations, guest services, reservations, accommodation pricing, housekeeping and maintenance coordination, and overall guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Previous management or supervisory experience
- Experience with point-of-sale systems, accounting software, spreadsheets, email and general office applications
- Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle
- Strong organizational, communication, customer-service and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple areas of the business and work independently
The successful candidate must be adaptable, organized, dependable and comfortable working in a hands-on management environment. Shift and on-call availability is required.
