Role Overview:
Cobalt Construction is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team. This role is responsible for accurately processing payroll using Eclipse software, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, and providing support to employees regarding payroll inquiries. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, demonstrates accuracy and confidentiality, and has a strong understanding of payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule using Eclipse payroll software.
  • Maintain employee payroll records, including hours, overtime, vacation, and deductions utilizing BambooHR (online HRIMS) and payroll systems.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports for management and regulatory compliance.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support year-end processes, including T4s and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding payroll activities, including new hires, terminations, ROE’s and final pay.
  • Maintain confidentiality and support payroll-related audits and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Previous payroll experience required; experience with Eclipse payroll software would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Yukon employment and payroll regulations.
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Discretion and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
