SDC supports business growth through commercial assets, partnerships, and service-related opportunities, including activities connected to mining, retail, hospitality, and community-based business operations.
Job Summary:
The Senior Business Development & Mining Account Representative is responsible for identifying, developing, and supporting business opportunities in the mining and resource sector, with a focus on client relationships, account growth, and strategic partnerships. The position acts as a key relationship contact for mining-related accounts and helps align SDC’s business units, assets, and joint venture capacity with opportunities in mining supply, logistics, camp support, construction, fuel, retail, and Indigenous partnership development.
Education/Experience:
- Diploma or degree in business, commerce, marketing, mining, geology, or a related discipline preferred.
- Two to five years of experience in business development, sales, account management, client relations, or the mining, industrial, construction, or resource sector preferred.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, and follow-through skills.
- Knowledge of Yukon’s mining sector, northern business conditions, and Indigenous business environments is a strong asset.
- Ability to travel within and outside of the Yukon for meetings, events, and occasional site visits.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class 5, with a clean driving Abstract.
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to work with little supervision.
