Salary: $111,516.67 to $153,810.76 per annum based on 70 hours bi-weekly (depending on qualifications and experience)

Overview
KFN is seeking a Director of Lands, Resources and Heritage (LRH). This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, management, and protection of KFN’s lands, resources, and heritage. This role provides strategic direction for the LRH department, develops policies and land-use plans, and ensures compliance with the KFN Final Agreement and relevant legislation. The position represents KFN in consultations, negotiations, and decision-making processes with governments, industry, and other partners. The Director identifies areas of cultural, ecological, economic, historical, and social significance, promotes the integration of traditional knowledge with sustainable resource management, and provides functional advice to Chief and Council.
Education and Experience
A degree in Public or Business Administration, Resource Management, Land Management, or a related discipline. Training in financial and human resource management is required. Significant progressive experience in a senior public sector leadership role is required, with preference given to experience within a First Nation government or organization. An equivalent combination of education and significant management experience may be considered.
Conditions of Employment
- Holds a post-secondary degree in a related field (see above)
- Holds a valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s license or willing and able to obtain within three (3) months of employment and a current driver's abstract and clean record
- An up-to-date criminal records check and clean record
- Holds a valid Standard First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain within the first three (3) months of employment
- Willing and able to travel within the territory and nationally, work overtime, and work outside of normal working hours
