Admin Assistant

Walker Home Construction is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support our growing portfolio of residential, multi-family, and community housing projects across the Yukon. This full-time role is based in our Whitehorse office.

What You’ll Do
- Manage front desk operations including answering phones, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries
- Maintain organized and confidential office records, project files, and documentation
- Support project teams with administrative tasks including preparing reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence
- Assist with scheduling meetings, coordinating calendars, and supporting internal communications
- Maintain office supplies, equipment, and inventory
- Support recruitment, onboarding documentation, and basic HR administration
- Assist with permit applications, project paperwork, and construction-related documentation
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and external stakeholders
- Ensure office policies and procedures remain organized and compliant
- Support general office coordination, team events, and administrative initiatives
- Perform additional administrative duties as required to support operations
- Maintain Social Media accounts
What You Bring
- Post-secondary education in administration or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience as an administrative assistant, preferably in a construction or trades environment
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) and office management systems
- Experience with construction software such as Buildertrend considered an asset
- Understanding of workplace health and safety documentation and compliance requirements
- Professional, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
