THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a position for someone who likes working with children and wants to achieve certification within the career of early childhood development. This is an opportunity to learn how to safely and effectively deliver programming that physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually stimulates children in our Dunena Ko’Honete Ko Daycare setting.

THE PERSON

This person enjoys working with children and community and has the compassion, motivation and patience for the well-being of children in their care. Someone who is willing and committed to train and take Early Learning and Child Care courses to attain certification. This person demonstrates confidence, reliability and has the ability to foster trust and professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS

This person will have good communication and coordination skills in providing care and a safe space for our children. Grade 12 (or equivalent) and/or 1-2 years working experience with ELCC and familiarity with working within a First Nation environment/ community. Level I, II, III Childhood Education Certification an asset.

Special Working Conditions

A Vulnerable Sector Check, First Aid/ CPR Level C, Immunization Record, TB Screening, Medical “Fit to Work” Note from Nurse Practitioner, and Class 5 Drivers License is an asset.
