Responsibilities

Tasks

Prepare and cook Indian dishes

  • Prepare and cook Indian dishes such as curries, tandoori items, biryani, naan, appetizers, and sauces
  • Follow recipes, portion sizes, and food presentation standards

  • Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, marinating, grinding spices, and making sauces

  • Operate kitchen equipment such as stove, tandoor, fryer, grill, and ovens

  • Maintain consistent taste, quality, and food safety standards

  • Check food inventory and inform the kitchen manager when supplies are low

  • Store food properly and label/date ingredients

  • Follow FIFO (first in, first out) procedures

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation

  • Wash and sanitize cooking equipment, utensils, and surfaces

  • Follow health and safety regulations, including temperature control and hygiene practices

  • Assist with menu preparation and daily kitchen prep

  • Work with kitchen staff to coordinate orders during busy service periods

  • Train or assist junior kitchen staff when required

  • Minimize food waste and control portions

  • Handle customer orders and special dietary requests when needed
