Community Education Liaison Coordinator (CELC)

Position Full-Time Term Until January 8, 2027

Salary: $42.14/hour, Step 1 of Step 5

TKC wage scale 6

Ta’an Kwäch’än Council is seeking a dynamic and results orientated CELC to be part of the Education Development Team.

Reporting to the Development Manager, the CELC position is responsible for the educational support of TKC children and youth in K-12. The CELC position will be part of a case-management team.

This position will be primarily responsible for providing one-on-one academic support in the school setting, but the role will also include the coordination of individual programming to meet the needs of each student.

The CELC is responsible for maintaining a student caseload as identified by the Citizen Development Manager. The CELC will document progress for each client and report on activities, as needed, to families, to the Citizen Development Manager and the case management team.

Required Qualifications (what we look for on your resume):

  • Bachelor of Education Degree, Bachelor of Social Work Degree, or relevant program of study such as Early Childhood Development or Counselling
  • Relevant training and equivalent experience working with school-aged children and youth will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of the Ta’an People: their history, culture, language, governance structure and community.

Required knowledge and skills (what we will assess):

  • Training in counselling, trauma-informed practice, conflict resolution, and/or mediation
  • Awareness of the Yukon Education System
  • Awareness of Yukon First Nations Educational supports, committees, Directorate etc.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Demonstrated level of professionalism.

Conditions of employment:

An acceptable criminal records check- vulnerable sector

Valid class 5 Driver’s License Abstract. Class four would be an asset.
