Muffin Baking for Blood Ties Four Directions (Volunteer)
Role Overview
The Blood Ties Outreach Van is looking for donations of muffins for our community members! We serve approximately 10,000 muffins a year to clients of the Outreach Van and are always in need of more.
Responsibilities
Volunteers purchase their own supplies and bake the muffins at home and donate once or ongoing (any amount of muffins helps!)
If you’re interested in baking and donating muffins, the requirements are: they must be nut-free, prepared using food-safe handling practices, and appropriately/individually packaged (saran wrap works great). Essentially we’re just expecting that volunteers prepare the muffins in a clean space, wash their hands, and be mindful about cross contamination risk if preparing foods with nuts at home. If you would rather make banana bread or bannock, that’s also fine.
Once prepared, muffins can be dropped off at the Blood Ties Drop-In Centre located at 6189 6th Avenue, Whitehorse, YT. We accept donations Monday-Friday between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM, and Saturday and Sunday between 10:00AM-5:30PM. Any amount of muffins is accepted. (we give out approximately 30 muffins per night though any amount of muffins donated is appreciated).
