Videography and Video Production Services — Request for Proposals
Northern Community Land Trust Society is a Yukon non-profit creating and stewarding community-owned affordable housing in the North. Our flagship project, Project 1096, is the first Community Land Trust development in the Yukon: a 32-unit permanently affordable home ownership development in Whistle Bend, Whitehorse, now reaching completion and welcoming its first homeowners.
We are seeking a videographer or video production professional to produce three to five short-form videos, each two to four minutes long, telling the story of this project through the people who built it and the people now living in it. The work includes contractor interviews on construction innovation and energy efficiency, resident interviews about the experience of buying a permanently affordable home, and an optional overview video introducing the Community Land Trust model. The finished videos will be used on our website and social media channels, in funder and government reporting, and in knowledge sharing with the wider housing sector.
Scope covers pre-production planning, location coordination with NCLTS and participants, videography, interviews and directing, B-roll, post-production editing, colour grading, sound design, captions, and delivery of master and web-ready files. Minimum HD 1080p, with 4K preferred where budget allows.
Anticipated budget is $8,000 to $15,000 CAD depending on scope and experience, with costs itemized in the proposal. Production runs September 1 to October 16, 2026, with delivery by November 13, 2026.
Vendors should have at least three years of professional videography experience, a portfolio of interview or documentary-style work, and professional liability insurance. Experience with non-profit or social impact storytelling, familiarity with Yukon communities, and experience working with Indigenous communities or decolonial approaches to storytelling are considered assets.
Proposals should run no more than five pages and address relevant experience, proposed approach, production plan, itemized budget, technical specifications, and availability. Full requirements, selection criteria, and submission instructions are set out in the RFP.
