Mobile Maintenance Services is seeking a skilled Welder/ Fabricator to join our team in Whitehorse, YT.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding specifications.

• Must be able to operate manual and semi-auto welding equipment, oxygen acetylene and plasma cutting equipment, brake shear and other metal shaping equipment.

• Cut, fit, and assemble metal parts according to project requirements.

• Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.

• Inspect welds for quality, strength, and adherence to specifications.

• Maintain welding tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.

• Follow all shop safety procedures and regulations.

• Assist with material handling, grinding, and finishing as needed.

• Work collaboratively with team members to meet production deadlines.

• Troubleshoot and repair welds or fabrication issues as required.

• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and comply with industry regulations.

• Maintain project documentation and ensure timely progress reporting.


Qualifications:

• Completion of Welding apprenticeship or welding certificate from recognized institution.

• Journeyperson Welder certification.

• Red Seal certification considered an asset.

• 2+ years’ of welding experience in shop or industrial setting.

• Experience working in the structural steel or construction industry.

• Have a good understanding of C.O.R and safe work practices.

• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

• Attention to detail and understanding of quality control procedure.

• Ensure safe work practices and meeting deadlines.

• Valid commercial license, and reliable transportation required.

• Must be able to meet tight deadlines, while being flexible with the ability to prioritize a changing work load.

• First Aid, WHMIS, TDG and any other certifications are beneficial.
