Art Instructor - Dawson City
Are you passionate about art and enjoy sharing your creativity with others?
ElderActive Recreation Association is looking for enthusiastic artist to lead engaging art classes for adults over 55 in Dawson City. This is a great opportunity to inspire others and build community while sharing your love of art.
About the Role
We are seeking individuals with experience in any visual art medium, including but not limited to:
- Watercolour
- Drawing
- Mixed medium
- Fibre Arts
- Beading
- Felting
- Other creative arts and crafts
You do not need to be a professional artist - we're looking for people who are knowledgeable, patient, and excited to help others learn in a welcoming, supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead enjoyable 2-hour art classes for older adults a few times a month.
- Create an inclusive, encouraging learning environment.
- Demonstrate techniques and provide guidance to participants of varying skill levels.
- Prepare required supplies and materials within a previously agreed budget.
- Prepare for classes and clean up afterwards.
Qualifications
- A passion for art and creativity
- Comfortable facilitating small group activities
- Friendly, patient and encouraging
- Strong communication skills
- Submit a list of required supplies before each class
- Previous teaching or workshop experience is an asset but not required.
