The Opportunity

Northern Vision Development (NVD) is hiring a friendly, detail-oriented Front Desk Agent for the Best Western® Gold Rush Inn in downtown Whitehorse. Located on historic Main Street, the Gold Rush Inn is a well-known Yukon hospitality landmark offering the familiarity of a trusted brand with the warmth and character of a uniquely northern experience.

In this role, you’re the first and last impression - welcoming guests, handling reservations and payments accurately, and keeping the front desk running smoothly through busy shifts in a fast-paced hotel environment.

What Does Your Success Look Like?

  • Guests feel genuinely welcomed and well-supported from check-in to check-out - resulting in strong reviews and repeat stays.
  • Reservations, room assignments, and guest requests are handled accurately, preventing issues before they escalate.
  • Cash, payments, and shift close-outs are accurate and compliant, with clear notes and clean handovers between shifts.
  • Communication with housekeeping and maintenance is timely and precise, so rooms, repairs, and guest needs move quickly.
  • You stay composed during peak arrivals/departures and high-volume periods, keeping service consistent and organized.

What You Bring To The Role

  • 6 months of direct customer service experience; front desk/guest services experience is preferred).
  • Guest service mindset – friendly, professional, and confident speaking with a wide range of guests.
  • Accuracy & detail – comfortable with reservations, payment processing, and handling guest information.
  • Communication skills – to communicate professionally and clearly with guests, colleagues, and management both in person and via phone and email.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working under pressure, particularly when handling guest inquiries, concerns, or complaints, while maintaining a calm and service-oriented approach.
  • Reliability - dependable and punctual, with strong shift handover habits and consistent attendance.
