Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineering Technologist to join our engineering team in Whitehorse, Yukon. The successful candidate will support the design, development, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems for a variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. The role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of electrical engineering projects.
- Assist in preparing project estimates, schedules, technical specifications, and engineering reports.
- Prepare and review technical specifications and project documentation.
- Conduct or supervise the installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment and systems.
- Prepare and update electrical drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.
- Coordinate project activities with engineers, contractors, consultants, and clients.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Participate in field inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance activities.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Support project management activities throughout all phases of project delivery.
Qualifications
- College diploma or certificate (1–2 years) in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1 year to less than 2 years of related experience.
- Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation is preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset.
- CADD Course certification is an asset.
- WHMIS Certificate is an asset.
Technical Skills
Experience using:
- AutoCAD
- Autodesk Revit
- Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
- Project Management Software
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Microsoft Windows
Experience with:
- Telecommunication systems
- Data communication equipment and systems
- Electric motors, generators, drives, and motor controls
- Building electrical systems
- Lighting systems
- Security systems
Work Environment
- On-site position (remote work is not available).
- Fast-paced engineering consulting environment.

- Occasional overtime may be required.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Own reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
