Carpenter – Job Description

The ideal candidate will have strong carpentry skills, a solid understanding of construction practices, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in residential and commercial environments. This role involves working on various construction and renovation projects within the Yukon.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rough and finish carpentry tasks, including framing, flooring, drywall installation, doors, windows, cabinetry, and trim work.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project plans.
  • Measure, cut, and shape materials accurately using hand and power tools.
  • Install structures and fixtures according to specifications and building codes.
  • Inspect and assess materials, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors, team members, and subcontractors to ensure timely project completion.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter in residential or commercial construction.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, tools, and building codes.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials, operate tools, and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to contribute to a team environment.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to job sites within the Yukon.
