Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Watch Repairer Apprentice to join our team in-person at our retail location. In this role, you will handle essential, hands-on watch services and technical repairs with precision and efficiency. Alongside your repair duties, you will manage the service bench operations and keep tight control over our parts inventory. If you are a dependable professional with a steady hand, proven repair skills, and excellent organizational habits, we want you on our team!

Job requirements

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: Previous experience in watch repair is required

Security and Safety: Criminal record check

Work Location: In-person (207 Main Street, Whitehorse, Yukon Y1A 2B2)

Key Responsibilities

  • Watch Services & Repairs: Perform foundational watch maintenance, including replacing batteries, replacing watch pins, and swapping out various types of watch bands.
  • Band Adjustments: Resize and adjust a variety of watch straps, with a specific focus on adjusting elastic/expansion watch bands.
  • Inventory Management: Track, organize, and manage inventory for watch batteries, bands, and all other essential parts for repair jobs to ensure the store remains fully stocked.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all completed services meet quality standards prior to customer pickup.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven Technical Skill: Demonstrated experience and technical proficiency in handling delicate watch components and using specialized tools.
  • Detail-Oriented: Exceptional focus, patience, and accuracy required for precise, intricate repair work.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to accurately track inventory numbers and keep a tidy, efficient service bench.
  • Eagerness to Learn: A strong desire to master new hands-on skills, grow with our company, and take on more complex responsibilities over time.
