Located on the traditional territory of the Champagne & Aishihik First Nation (CAFN), the Early Years Visitor works closely with CAFN to implement programming that builds on community strengths and First Nation culture to enhance parenting and early learning opportunities which is known to result in better health, well-being and learning outcomes for children. This position serves all Indigenous children and families with little ones 0-5 years of age who join the program.

We are seeking a self-motivated individual who is a self starter, can be trusted to work independently & with autonomy, and has great community connections. A passion for child development in the early years is essential.

The YFNED is partnered with the Martin Family Initiative (MFI); a charity that works alongside First Nations, Inuit and Métis People in Canada to help foster Indigenous children and youth’s education and wellbeing. The MFI Early Years is an innovative evidence-informed program model that seeks to honour parents as their children’s first teachers, support healthy pregnancies and infancy and successful service navigation.
