Property Maintenance Staff

Job Summary

The Property Maintenance Staff is responsible for maintaining the safety, cleanliness, appearance, and functionality of the property. This position performs preventative maintenance, repairs, landscaping, and general upkeep to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for guests, tenants, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of buildings, rooms, common areas, and equipment.
• Complete preventative maintenance according to scheduled maintenance plans.
• Repair plumbing, electrical fixtures (within qualifications), drywall, painting, flooring, doors, windows, and locks.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, tenants, or staff..
• Maintain landscaping, snow removal, walkways, parking lots, and exterior grounds.
• Inspect fire safety equipment, emergency lighting, smoke detectors, and alarm systems.
• Maintain tools, maintenance equipment, .
• Assist with renovations, furniture installation, and room setup.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors during repair projects.
• Report major repairs and safety concerns to management immediately.
• Follow occupational health and safety regulations.
• Support emergency response procedures when required.
• Perform other maintenance duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate or trade training in building maintenance is an asset.
• Previous maintenance experience in hotels, apartments, commercial buildings, or residential properties preferred.
• Valid driver's license is an asset.
• WHMIS and First Aid certification preferred.
