Position Description

I. Position Title

II. Position Summary

The cashiers are responsible for the completing of transactions for selling of fuel, propane, and confectionery items; providing quick courteous service to the customers. Cleaning, stocking and maintaining the store area and washrooms.

III. Duties and Responsibilities

· greeting all customers promptly in a friendly, courteous manner

· taking payments and giving back correct change

· correctly use and operate the POS machines

. lottery retailing

. checking I.D.'s for age restricted product

· putting vehicle license numbers on all charges

· putting po#’s on all appropriate charges

· keeping the store and washrooms clean and free of dirt on a daily basis

· keeping the coffee pots clean and full

· stocking the shelves on a continuous basis

· inspecting and reporting on the labels or lack of, for all inventory items

· reporting any and all shortages or low levels of inventory and supplies

· perform his/her duties in a safety conscious manner that protects all employees and customers from injury and/or damage to property, both the companies and 3rd parties

· provide assistance to co-workers on an ongoing basis as and when required

· other duties as required

• Ability to deal with the public
• Must be physically capable of performing the duties and responsibilities as described
• Lottery Terminal Operator Certification is an asset
• Tobacco Smart Age Certification is an asset
