Role Summary:

As a cook you will play a vital role in preparing meals and serving food for travelers in our grab and go restaurant within the airport. Your primary responsibilities will be included preparing a variety of food items, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards, and providing excellent customer service to meet the needs of time-sensitive passengers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a wide range of food items, including baked goods, sandwiches, salads, wraps, snacks and hot food items
  • Clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances
  • Receive payment for food items purchased
  • Be part of the BWB Team presenting a clean, organized and efficient bistro with a reputation for delicious food!
  • Ensure all safety and health regulations and best practices are met or exceeded
  • Ensure food items are cooked, are in correct packaging, stored, and handled at appropriate temperatures
  • Rotate stock and ensure freshness of ingredients to minimize waste
  • Make adjustments to accommodate clients with specific allergies and/or diet restrictions
  • Ensure high standard of food safety and cleanliness in the kitchen, including monitoring food storage, expiry dates and promptly addressing any concerns regarding food quality to management

Must haves:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen or a restaurant
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Valid Drivers License
  • A strong sense of accountability, honesty, and responsibility in all tasks, supporting the trust that we have built with passengers, partners, and communities
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to our unique mission, whether that’s through direct customer service, operational excellence, or behind-the-scenes support
  • Must be a legally entitled to work in Canada

Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge of food safety standards
  • Food Safe Level 1 certification
