The opportunity

Carved is the signature restaurant at Hyatt Place Whitehorse, bringing elevated comfort food, northern influence, and a modern dining experience to downtown Whitehorse. Our kitchen team plays an important role in delivering that experience, whether through preparing quality food, keeping service moving smoothly, or making sure the kitchen stays organized and ready to perform.

These roles are a strong fit for people who like practical, hands-on work, take pride in doing it well, and want to be part of a kitchen where teamwork, consistency, and reliability matter every day.

What does your success look like?

  • Guests consistently enjoy food that is well prepared, well presented, and served to a strong standard.
  • Kitchen prep, service, and support work are completed reliably, helping the team stay organized and ready for service.
  • Health, safety, and cleanliness standards are consistently maintained.
  • Supplies, product, and kitchen routines are managed well, helping reduce waste and avoid service disruption.
  • Team members support one another well, contributing to a respectful, dependable, and professional kitchen environment.

What you bring to the role

  • Experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Willingness to learn, follow direction, and contribute to customer service
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain standards in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety
  • A reliable, positive, and team-oriented approach

Why build your career with us?

This role offers the chance to join a strong kitchen team in a modern restaurant where your contribution matters every shift. For the right person, it is an opportunity to build experience, work in a professional hospitality setting, and take pride in being part of a team that delivers food and service people remember. We offer:

  • Gratuities
  • 2- weeks vacation pay, increasing at defined service milestones
  • Health coverage including extended health, dental, and vision
  • Training and development
  • Pathways for advancement; we prioritize promoting from within
  • Preferred staff and friends and family rates across our hotel portfolio
  • Preferred staff pricing at our restaurants
  • Employee assistance and wellness program for you and your dependents
