Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Floor Covering Installer to join our team. The successful candidate will install, repair, and replace a variety of floor coverings in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires precision, physical stamina, and the ability to work with a range of materials and tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, measure, and prepare floor surfaces for installation.
• Measure, cut, and install floor covering materials such as carpet, vinyl, linoleum, laminate, and other resilient flooring.
• Lay and secure underpadding and foundation materials.
• Stretch, tack, glue, or fasten floor coverings using hand and power tools.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
• Remove and dispose of old floor coverings and debris safely.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and layout specifications.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and company standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor covering installation is an asset.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
• Physical ability to kneel, bend, lift, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic communication skills in English.
• Completion of secondary school may be an asset.

Work Conditions

• Fast-paced work environment.
• Physically demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, kneeling, and repetitive movements.
• Work may take place at residential, commercial, or construction sites.

Compensation

• Starting wage of $26.00 per hour.
• Hours count towards journeymen or Red Seal apprenticeships
• Benefits after 3 months
