Lamarche, Lang & Barrett Law Group is seeking a Conveyancing Legal Assistant to join our team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assisting lawyers and conveyancers with residential and commercial real estate transactions;
- Communicating with clients, realtors, lenders, government agencies, and other law offices;
- Opening, organizing, and maintaining conveyancing files;
- Ordering searches and obtaining information from third parties;
- Preparing documents and correspondence using office precedents and templates for lawyer review;
- Scheduling appointments and monitoring transaction deadlines;
- Assisting with client identification and verification procedures;
- Scanning, filing, and maintaining electronic and physical records;
- Delivering and filing documents with the Land Titles Office, banks, government offices, and other organizations as required;
- Assisting with front desk coverage as needed;
- Notary Public designation may be required;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada;
- Previous experience in a law office, real estate office, banking environment, or administrative role is an asset;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines;
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally and ethically;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and other standard office software;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
- Familiarity with Yukon real estate transactions and Land Titles Office procedures is an asset;
- Valid Yukon driver's licence is an asset;
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
