Our team is currently looking to expand with the addition of a new retail sales associate (NOC 64100) In this role, you will engage with customers, showcase our products through detailed knowledge and demonstration, and provide exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction. Your knowledge and communication skills will drive sales, support merchandising efforts, and help create a welcoming environment for all. Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
- Conduct product demonstrations to highlight features and benefits, encouraging customer engagement
- Assemble, display, and unpack merchandise to ensure it is ready for viewing on the sales floor
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling and receipts
- Upsell complementary products to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service
- Provide knowledgeable answers about product specifications, appliance features, and store policies
- Maintain organized store areas, clean, and assist with stock replenishment
- Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and clear communication skills
Experience
- Previous retail sales experience is preferred, ideally with items such as appliances and furniture
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly valued to assist customers who prefer other languages apart from English
- Experience in technology, to operate POS systems, use digital training modules, and access emails
- Strong organizational skills, time management, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role
- Basic math skills are necessary for cash handling, POS operations, and transaction accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening, help foster positive customer relationships
- Familiarity with merchandising principles, POS systems, and cashiering procedures is a plus
- Highschool diploma or an equivalency is required. Post secondary education is not necessary, but preferred
