The Administrative & Store Assistant is responsible for assisting the Operations and Development Manager in the office, and helping customers purchase merchandise. The ideal candidate is friendly and outgoing and can maintain a welcoming environment for our customers. Approximately 20 hours per week. This is a summer position through August 31, with the possibility for an extension.

Duties include

  • Greeting customers
  • Sharing information about the Yukon Quest and its history
  • Merchandise Sales
  • Shop tidying and organizing merchandise
  • Maintain and manage online sales through social media and online site
  • Basic office administration
  • Errands, such as taking a deposit to the bank
  • Packaging and shipment of product.

We are looking for someone who is friendly and can maintain a welcoming environment for customers and visitors.

Required Experience:

The candidate for this position should be an outgoing and energetic individual. Should be familiar with office administration. Post secondary education in Tourism, business or recreation is an asset. Experience with Helcim is an asset.

  • Ability to work efficiently and independently
  • Familiarity with the Yukon Quest would be an asset
  • Excellent people skills and an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude
