Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for finishing drywall surfaces to ensure a smooth, professional appearance. This role requires attention to detail, proficiency in taping techniques, and the ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced construction environment. The Drywall Taper plays a vital part in delivering high-quality results on residential and commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Apply joint compound over drywall seams and fasteners to create a seamless surface
- Tape drywall joints using paper or fiberglass mesh tape for durability and smooth finish
- Sand and smooth finished surfaces to prepare for painting or other finishes
- Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications to ensure accurate application of materials
- Use hand tools such as taping knives, sanders, and mixers effectively
- Maintain a clean work area, ensuring safety standards are met at all times
- Collaborate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to complete projects efficiently
- Assist with caulking and minor handyman tasks as needed to support overall project completion
Requirements
- Proven experience in drywall taping, finishing, or related construction roles
- Knowledge of construction painting, carpentry, and general handyman skills is preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Experience with caulking and other finishing techniques is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various construction environments
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift materials, and stand for extended periods
- Prior experience in construction or related fields such as carpentry or general contracting is advantageous
