Location: Northern Lights Optometry, 2093 2nd Avenue, Whitehorse, Yukon

We are currently looking for a reliable, friendly, detail-oriented Optometric Assistant/Administrative Support Staff Member who excels in communication and multitasking to join our growing team!

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, learning new skills, and being part of a supportive, welcoming team environment. No optical experience? No problem! We’ll provide all the training you need!

What You’ll Do:

  • Primary responsibilities will include conducting pre-screening tests for patients in preparation for seeing their optometrist, such as visual acuity testing, eye pressure measurements, retinal imaging, and other various ophthalmic medical scans
  • Greet and assist patients with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Manage patient records and ensure accurate data entry
  • Answer phone calls and assist with patient inquiries
  • Support daily business transactions and office tasks
  • Manage clinic communications such as patient recall systems

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Comfortable using computers; cash handling experience is a plus
  • Previous experience in administration, an optical or healthcare setting is an asset (but not required)
  • Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can also work independently
