Retail Representative
G-P Distributing is a locally owned and operated food service distributor that has been servicing the Yukon and North Western NWT since 1995. Position
G-P Distributing is hiring a Retail Representative. This position encompasses obtaining and processing orders from customers, to working with manufacturer reps. This position is part of G-P’s retail department. Prepare customer orders and ensure that they are delivered and merchandised. Ordering and maintaining inventories for all accounts.
Class: Permanent, Full-time
Hourly Pay Range: $20 - $24 per hour - Depending on experience
Hours of Work: 40 Hours per Week (shift may include weekend work)
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with other merchandisers, displays and deliveries
- Rotating and stocking shelves
- Invoicing and Credits
- Completing daily tasks on handhelds including End of Day
- Purchasing
- Sales and Product development (growth, new products, and samples, displays)
- Prospecting
- Building relationships with customers
- Taking orders from customers
- Answering calls and emails
- Customer site checks
- Build and update order guides
Qualifications:
- Mandatory Class 5 License with a clean abstract
- Past work experience as a driver is a definite asset.
- Past work experience in sales and customer service is an asset
- Ability to work well in a fast paced and physically demanding environment
- Self-motivated
- Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team
- Capable of maintaining a professional image and enhancing customer relationships
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Able to comfortably lift/ carry a minimum of 50lbs and move 150lbs with the use of a cart
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor
- First aid, WHMIS and Food Safe would be an asset
