PROJECT GEOLOGIST
We are seeking a motivated individual for the role of Project Geologist to join Metallic Mineral’s exploration team in the Keno Silver District.
Reporting directly to and in conjunction with the Exploration Management Team, the Project Geologist will be responsible for planning, supervising, and actively participating in all aspects of mineral exploration activities.

Job Description
As Project Geologist, your primary duties will require you to:
- Champion and uphold the Company’s zero-tolerance policy on drug and alcohol use at work, while setting an example for a safe and harassment-free workplace
- Plan for and execute various exploration activities, including surveying drill pads and access trails, preparing drill hole layouts, managing hole shutdowns and core logging and sampling
- Provide drilling reports and cross-sections and assess drill hole performance in relation to Company exploration objectives
- Conduct regular drill site inspections, to ensure that drilling operations are effectively integrated with concurrent exploration activities while meeting established environmental and safety standards
- Oversee and participate in field mapping, geophysical surveys, and geochemical sampling
- Collaborate with Management and the Exploration Team to contribute geological expertise towards advancing the Keno Silver District portfolio, focusing on data integration, innovation, and the adoption of new technologies
- Assist the project manager with daily reporting, site inductions, and safety meetings.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, including junior geologists, geotechnicians, field assistants and core cutters, guaranteeing their development and on-site safety
- Verify all operations are conducted within compliance of land use permits and regulations and strive to exceed Yukon Best Management Practices for Exploration
Required Education and Ideal Qualifications
- Eligibility to work in Canada, with a university degree in the Earth Sciences, and admissibility to register with EGBC or a similar professional organization
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in mineral exploration
- A contagious enthusiasm for geoscience with the ability to motivate exploration teams
- A resourceful and proactive style to milestone achievement and task ownership
- Willingness to operate in a field setting, generally on a 21 to 28 days on, 10 days off rotation, in summer, and ability to work remotely, from home, during the off-season.
- Proficient written and oral communication skills
- A minimum of Standard First Aid Certification
- Experience with software such as QGIS, ESRI ArcGIS (Pro) and Leapfrog Geo
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and experience with the operation of UTVs and 4x4 pick-up trucks, as well as experience working around helicopters
- Ability to safely lift 50lbs and work with others to safely move core boxes and sample bags
- Ability and fitness to safely work under challenging field conditions, in mountainous terrain and often rapidly changing weather patterns
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and empathetically in a multi-disciplinary, cross-cultural team, alongside local First Nations and Yukon residents
