The opportunity
Carved is a modern downtown restaurant located inside Hyatt Place Whitehorse, serving elevated comfort food with northern influences in a warm, welcoming space. As an weekend Server, you help shape the guest experience at one of the most important points in the day – creating a dinner service that feels polished, relaxed, and memorable. There is room to grow for people who show initiative, reliability, and strong service.
What does your success look like?
- Guests feel genuinely welcomed, looked after, and leave wanting to return or recommend Carved to others.
- The evening service runs smoothly, with minimal wait times and few service errors.
- Orders are accurate, timely, and coordinated well with the kitchen, so food arrives at the right temperature and pace.
- The dining room, buffet/service areas, and tables stay clean, stocked, and visually on brand.
- Cashouts and POS entries are accurate, supporting clean daily reconciliation.
What you bring to the role
- Previous serving or customer-service experience in a hospitality environment.
- Comfort using a POS system, financial procedures precisely.
- A morning-ready attitude: you’ll arrive on time, prepared, and able to perform in early shifts.
- Communication: Clear, professional, and efficient to get orders right the first time.
- Community-Minded: You enjoy getting to know regulars and being part of a local favorite.
- Ability to manage multiple tables, tasks, and priorities while maintaining composure.
- Team Player: You collaborate well with others and contribute to a positive team culture.

Requirements:
- Ability to frequently lift up to 20 lbs;
- Ability to stand, bend, and reach throughout the shift; and
- Ability to work weekday and weekend shifts that begin at 4:00-5:00pm.
Employment conditions: Must be 19 years of age, BARS Certification (may be obtained within 30 days post hire).
