Garage Door Installer / Overhead Door Techniction
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Garage Door Installer/Overhead Door Technician with at least three years of hands-on experience in the installation, service, and repair of residential and commercial overhead door systems.
This is a specialized skilled trade position focused exclusively on garage door systems. The role involves field service work, diagnostics, installation, and maintenance of mechanical door systems in residential and commercial environments.
This is a long-term full-time permanent position with stable year-round employment.
Key Responsibilities:
Install residential and commercial overhead garage door systems.
Perform service, repair, and maintenance of garage doors and related components.
Diagnose mechanical issues including springs, cables, rollers, tracks, and openers.
Install and troubleshoot automatic door openers and control systems.
Conduct on-site inspections and ensure safe, compliant installations.
Read and follow technical manuals, work orders, and installation specifications.
Use hand and power tools required for garage door systems.
Work safely at heights using ladders, lifts, and proper safety equipment.
Communicate professionally with clients on-site regarding service work.
Complete job documentation and service reports accurately.
Requirements:
Minimum three years of experience as a Garage Door Installer/Overhead Garage Door Technician.
Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
Ability to independently complete installations and service calls.
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment.
Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and work at heights.
A valid Class 5 driver's license is required.
Strong attention to detail and safety standards.
Assets:
Experience with commercial overhead door systems.
Experience with automatic door operators and control systems.
Experience installing and servicing residential and commercial overhead doors, garage door openers, and related hardware is considered a strong asset.
Trade certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
