Heritage Interpreters
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Business Marketing Manager, this position will serve as an ambassador to inspire success, pride and growth of cultural awareness to the visitors of the Heritage Centre. This position will present tours and programs that reflect and enhance the traditional and contemporary experience of the Teslin Tlingit. The incumbent will utilize a variety of interpretation methods, which include audio visual, illustrated talks and tours. Candidates should enjoy working in an engaging team environment be outgoing and mature. Other duties may include the operation of a cash register and completing sales transactions.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greet, register guests
- Operation of cash register and completing sales transactions
- Orientate visitors and inform on local history
- Develop a keen understanding of exhibits, history and grounds
- Develop new tour plans
- Undertake general indoor and outdoor maintenance tasks
- Be able to cook Bannock or willing to learn

The successful candidate must have excellent customer service skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. The ability to provide hospitality and ensure the safety of all visitors and staff is required. Knowledge of and experience in Teslin Tlingit traditions and contemporary values is desired. Maintaining confidentiality is a condition of employment for all TTC Staff.
The Heritage Interpreters must be willing to work evenings, weekends and statutory holidays.
