Are you enthusiastic, adventurous, and passionate about sharing the beauty of the Yukon with others? We’re looking for a dedicated Tour Guide to join our team at Northern Lights Resort & Spa.

As a tour guide, you’ll lead Northern Lights viewing experiences, daytime sightseeing, natural interpretation tours, and airport transfers. Our guests travel from around the world, offering a unique opportunity to connect with diverse cultures while showcasing the Yukon’s landscapes and stories.

With multi-day stays, you’ll have the chance to build genuine connections with guests, who often express their appreciation generously. This role offers a dynamic and supportive work environment where teamwork and independent decision-making are equally valued.

Position Details

  • Type: Seasonal, full-time or part-time
  • Season: August 10, 2026 – mid-April 2027
  • Commitment: Long-term commitment preferred
  • Hours: 25–40+ hours per week, including 3–4 night shifts

We are seeking an open-minded, outgoing individual who thrives in a small team environment, brings fresh ideas, and contributes to elevating the guest experience at Northern Lights Resort & Spa.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Guiding Skills: Strong interpretive skills or willingness to learn (training provided)
  • Local Knowledge: Understanding of Yukon history and geography, or motivation to learn
  • Organization: Ability to plan and manage schedules effectively
  • Reliability: Dependable and punctual
  • Weather Resilience: Comfortable working outdoors in all conditions
  • Problem Solving: Ability to adapt to itinerary changes and unexpected situations
  • Driver’s License: Valid Canadian Class IV driver’s license required
  • First Aid: Current First Aid & CPR certification
  • Language: Fluency in English (additional languages are an asset)
  • Additional Skills: Photography skills are an asset (training available)

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing luggage transfers and assisting with guest check-in and check-out procedures
  • Conducting engaging tour commentaries and coordinating with local partners
  • Guiding sightseeing tours and Northern Lights viewing experiences
  • Providing exceptional guest service and responding to inquiries professionally
  • Ensuring safe and smooth transportation for guests

Work Environment & Benefits

  • Compensation: $28–$35 per hour, based on experience, incl. gratuities
  • Accommodation: On-site staff housing available (case-by-case)
