About Us: The Plumb Shack is a start-up, locally owned and operated, plumbing and heating wholesaler and retailer. We are committed to delivering outstanding service to our clients and have a “Yukoners supporting Yukoners” business model. We are looking for a self-motivated individual capable of seeing, and making improvements to, the “whole picture” while balancing their daily duties. As the face of the company this employee will be responsible for all sales, and warehouse maintenance. Diligence in attendance, and a passion for knowledge is a must! This isn’t your usual desk job! This position requires mental and physical activity daily.

As we are a growing company, there is potential for the ideal candidate to be trained into a management position long term, but that is not a mandatory requirement for filling this position.

Responsibilities:

  1. Customer service:
  • Development and maintenance of relationships with clients, vendors, and shippers, with a large emphasis on communication
  • Professionally handling all phone calls, emails, and in-person customers
  • Fulfilling customer request by pulling from current stock or placing special orders
  • Processing sales, customer payments, and returns

  1. Warehouse/Inventory Maintenance:
  • Organizing and replenishing warehouse shelves and storefront displays with overstock
  • Completing vendor orders
  • Accepting and processing deliveries
  • Keeping receiving area clear, including winter-time snow shovelling
  • Coordinating shipments
  • Maintaining accuracy in inventory software

  1. Administrative duties:
  • Scanning and physical/online filing of documents
  • Ensure a clean and clutter free workspace, warehouse, and storefront
  • Support the development of in-house and online advertisements
  • SOP creation and maintenance

Requirements:

The Basics:

    • Legally entitled to work in Canada/Have a valid work permit for 2+ years
    • Class 5 driver’s license
    • Excellent English written and verbal communication

    Education & Training/Work Experience:

      • Experience working in plumbing and or heating (Sales or in the trade)

      Skills & Abilities:

        • Exemplary customer service
        • Proficiency in computer software such as:
        • Office 365 including Outlook
        • Square POS
        • The ability to comprehend and follow SOPs in daily tasks

        Soft Skills:

          • Organization
          • Problem-solving
          • Time management
          • Attention to detail
          • Resourcefulness

          Physical/Operational Demands:

            • Lifting objects 20-50+lbs repetitively
            • Ability to safely climb ladders
            • Steel toe boots

            Considered an asset:

              • Experience working in ordering/shipping
              • Experience working in QuickBooks

              The Plumb Shack’s Sales and Warehouse Attendant would be required to work Monday to Friday, 7:45AM to 4:15PM with a flexible half hour/hour for lunch. Benefit package is provided after the first three months of employment.
