The Junior Inspector (JI) assists the Lead Inspector to provide welding inspection services using visual inspection and non-destructive testing. The JI provides customer service by scheduling inspections, and providing quotes and inspection reports to customers.
This position is based in Whitehorse but also requires frequent travel to Yukon communities. Overtime hours are available and per diems are provided for travel.
Duties include:
- Performing onsite inspection of equipment/structures through a combination of methods including visual, dye penetrant, magnetic particle, and ultrasonic inspection under supervision of the Lead Inspector and/or Engineer in Charge.
- Completing accurate reports on inspected items including preparation of inspection sheets and certifications and reporting all findings to the Engineer in Charge.
- Assisting with the preparation of customer quotes and making recommendations for necessary equipment repair work.
- Providing high quality customer service in person, via telephone and email in a manner which encourages customers to return to RGA Engineering Ltd for future services.
- Scheduling and organizing inspections in Whitehorse, Yukon communities and other work sites.
- Traveling to job sites within Whitehorse and to small communities/remote sites.
- Attending safety meetings, following safe work practices/procedures at all times, and completing safety training/certification as required in seCOR certified business.
- Maintaining competency to perform required duties through continuing education and training in consultation with the Lead Inspector and Engineer in Charge.
- Attending business promoting and networking events.
- Performing other related duties as they arise.
Additional Application Instructions
Candidate must have valid class 5 driver's license and provide a clean drivers abstract prior to hiring.
Previous experience in construction or related fields is an asset but not required.
