Walker Home Construction | Whitehorse, Yukon

Walker Home Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of residential, multi-family, and community housing projects across the Yukon. This is a full-time, senior role based in Whitehorse, with regular coordination and occasional travel to active project sites.

We build high-quality, community-driven housing in challenging northern environments. Our team values consistency, quality, connection, and accountability, and we’re looking for a Project Manager who can lead projects with confidence, clarity, and care—from pre-construction through closeout.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead full project lifecycle delivery, from pre-construction planning through completion and warranty

  • Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, and risk to ensure successful outcomes

  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams

  • Prepare and manage contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and cost tracking

  • Review and manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and construction documentation

  • Chair site meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and schedule adherence

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and Yukon OHS requirements

  • Work closely with senior leadership to support forecasting, reporting, and continuous improvement

  • Foster positive relationships with clients, community partners, and regulatory authorities

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management (residential, multi-family, commercial, or institutional)

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and schedules simultaneously

  • Construction management diploma/degree, engineering, CET designation, or equivalent experience

  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills

  • High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and construction management software

  • Experience with Buildertrend or similar platforms considered a strong asset

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence

  • Experience working in remote, northern, or logistically complex environments is an asset

Why Work With Us

  • Competitive salary: $90,000–$120,000, commensurate with experience

  • Performance reviews with opportunities for growth and advancement

  • Flexible vacation and a strong emphasis on work-life balance

  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and insurance benefits

  • Ongoing training, professional development, and leadership opportunities

  • Mileage reimbursement and regular team-building events

  • Opportunity to work on meaningful housing projects that support Yukon communities

If you’re an experienced Project Manager looking to lead impactful projects while building a long-term career in the North, we’d love to hear from you.
