Project Manager - Construction

Walker Home Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of residential, multi-family, and community housing projects across the Yukon. This is a full-time, senior role based in Whitehorse, with regular coordination and occasional travel to active project sites.
We build high-quality, community-driven housing in challenging northern environments. Our team values consistency, quality, connection, and accountability, and we’re looking for a Project Manager who can lead projects with confidence, clarity, and care—from pre-construction through closeout.
What You’ll Do

Lead full project lifecycle delivery, from pre-construction planning through completion and warranty

Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, and risk to ensure successful outcomes

Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams

Prepare and manage contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and cost tracking

Review and manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and construction documentation

Chair site meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders

Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and schedule adherence

Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and Yukon OHS requirements

Work closely with senior leadership to support forecasting, reporting, and continuous improvement

Foster positive relationships with clients, community partners, and regulatory authorities
What You Bring
-
5+ years of experience in construction project management (residential, multi-family, commercial, or institutional)

Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and schedules simultaneously
-
Construction management diploma/degree, engineering, CET designation, or equivalent experience
-
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
-
High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and construction management software

Experience with Buildertrend or similar platforms considered a strong asset

Valid Class 5 driver’s licence

Experience working in remote, northern, or logistically complex environments is an asset
